Come be inspired at the Plaid Sheep Company. Formerly known as Country Craft Cupboard, the shop was established in 1984 in a little storefront on the edge of town and then moved downtown to an old grocery store building for 34 years. In 2018, we relocated to Schrock’s Heritage Village. 

Known for our selection of wool and homespun fabrics, we carry supplies for rug hooking, wool applique, unique sewing projects and more. Browse through walls of patterns and models to choose your next project. 

We’re home to Backyard Friends, patterns designed by the owner, Karen Lamp, for everything from blankets and throws to table runners and wall hangings. There are hundreds of ideas for distinctive handmade gifts, ready-to-go-kits for your convenience, a large selection of 100% wool and hand-dyed wools, original patterns and designs and walls of samples. Longarm quilting services are also available. For those who want to learn more, we offer comprehensive in-person and online classes and retreats.
